Lockwood Haulage can trace it’s beginnings back to 1965 when the associated frozen food business Lockwoods Ltd purchased a number of vehicles to deliver it’s frozen mushy peas. As refrigerated vehicles were a relatively new idea at the time and the peas required chilled deliveries this meant that deliveries were only made during the winter months during the cold weather. This left the delivery vehicles idle during the rest of the year and they were soon put to use delivering goods for a completely new set of customers.

The advent of chilled distribution in the late 1960’s meant that Lockwoods Ltd were then able to retain their own delivery vehicles throughout the year and Lockwood Haulage was formed to continue it’s operations independently.

Lockwood Haulage operate a large fleet of approximately 75 modern vehicles ranging from 17 tonne curtain sided vehicles to 44 tonne articulated units.

Our fleet of 105 trailers includes flatbeds, curtain siders, sliding roofs and double decker trailers. All vehicles are tracked and monitored by our GPS satellite system and of course all our drivers are equipped with mobile phones and smart morden uniforms.

Our fleet operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. They are supported and managed by our friendly and professional staff, who are there to offer solutions to your haulage requirements.

We specialise in a variety of haulage solutions including third party logistics. Utilising four large warehouse facilities with efficient 'pick and pack' operations, we can take your product and distribute it throughout the UK and into Europe.
